The story
Uwe Gemballa founded the company in Leonberg in 1981 and registered it as a full manufacturer with the German motor vehicle authority in 1985. The name became synonymous with extreme Porsche 911 and Cayenne builds that pushed factory cars into supercar territory. After Uwe Gemballa's death in 2010 and a period of insolvency, investor Steffen Korbach acquired the brand and refounded the company, which continues to produce limited-run Porsche-based vehicles.
